The project

Designed for its setting, use and architecture.

A footbridge must resolve a span, two arrival levels and the experience of crossing between them. The structure, deck, balustrades and support conditions are studied as one system.

Our design office coordinates geometry and fabrication with the structural requirements and the realities of access, lifting and assembly on site.

Parapets and handrails are coordinated with the deck, structure and approach routes.

Buildable in difficult sites

Steel, stainless steel, timber, glass and non-slip deck finishes are combined to suit use and exposure.

Site information feeds into the fabrication drawings, then stays with the workshop and installation team.

    Levels, span, supports, access and use are recorded and checked.

  2. Engineering development

    Structure, deck, balustrades, interfaces and erection strategy are coordinated.

  3. Controlled fabrication

    The bridge is assembled in the workshop in sections suited to transport and installation.

  4. Erection

    Our teams position, connect and finish the assembly on site.

Do you work with structural engineers?+

Yes. Structural calculations and design responsibilities are coordinated according to the size and context of the project.

Can a footbridge be installed on a steep site?+

Yes, subject to survey and access. The design and erection method are developed together for constrained terrain.

Can the deck be timber or glass?+

Different deck materials are possible. Their slip resistance, drainage, durability and connection to the metal frame must be resolved in detail.
