The project

Designed for its setting, use and architecture.

A security grille should strengthen an opening without darkening the room or making the façade feel defensive. Every piece is surveyed, drawn and made for one specific window or doorway.

The design may remain deliberately quiet, reproduce an existing architectural detail or become a piece of decorative ironwork in its own right. Bars, frames and fixings are resolved around the opening and its substrate.

What we resolve

The decisions that define the finished work.

Protection by design

Sections, spacing, frames and anchoring are developed for the opening and the required level of protection.

Daylight retained

The rhythm is composed to keep the grille visually light from both the street and the interior.

Architectural continuity

A pattern can echo the window proportions, existing railings or historic ironwork on the façade.

Careful fixing

Survey and installation details take account of stonework, render, concrete and the surrounding finishes.

Applications

For private, professional and public projects.

Design and installation are adapted to the building, its users and the site conditions recorded during the survey.

Villa windows and openings

Ground-floor apartment windows

Professional premises

Our involvement

From site survey to final handover.

Site information feeds into the fabrication drawings, then stays with the workshop and installation team.

  1. Survey

Openings, substrates, levels and existing architectural details are recorded.

  2. Drawing

We set the rhythm, sections, fixings and any opening or locking elements.

  3. Fabrication

Components are formed, welded, dressed and prepared for their protective finish.

  4. Installation

The work is fitted with attention to alignment, substrates and the surrounding finishes.

Frequently asked questions

Useful points before an initial assessment.

Can you restore or extend existing ironwork?+

Often, yes. We first inspect the condition, material and fixing method before recommending repair, reproduction or replacement.

Can grilles be decorative as well as secure?+

Yes. A carefully proportioned pattern can provide protection while contributing to the character of the façade.

Can a security grille be made to open?+

It can, where the use and position permit it. The frame, hinges, lock and necessary clearance are then included in the design.
