The project

Designed for its setting, use and architecture.

A balustrade is first a safety element, but it also draws a strong line through the building. Height, spacing, handrails, glass and fixing positions are resolved without losing sight of the architecture or the view.

We work on new-build and refurbishment projects, from discreet stainless-steel and glass systems to wrought-iron balustrades shaped around existing masonry.

What we resolve

The decisions that define the finished work.

Safety resolved early

Geometry, openings, loading and fixing principles are considered from the first drawings.

Views preserved

Post spacing, glass panels and handrail profiles are composed to limit visual interruption.

Curves and level changes

Survey information is translated into workshop geometry for terraces, stairs and irregular edges.

Material combinations

Steel, stainless steel, glass, timber and forged elements can be brought together in one coherent detail.

Applications

For private, professional and public projects.

Design and installation are adapted to the building, its users and the site conditions recorded during the survey.

Terraces and balconies

Internal and external stairs

Pool surrounds

Hotels, apartment buildings and public venues

Our involvement

From site survey to final handover.

Site information feeds into the fabrication drawings, then stays with the workshop and installation team.

  1. Measure and coordinate

We survey the supporting construction and coordinate interfaces with waterproofing, stonework and finishes.

  2. Technical drawings

Heights, infill, posts, handrails and anchoring details are set out for approval.

  3. Workshop production

Straight, curved and bespoke components are fabricated and trial assembled where useful.

  4. Installation

Our fitters align, secure and finish the balustrade on site.

Frequently asked questions

Useful points before an initial assessment.

Do you make glass balustrades?+

Yes. Glass can be combined with steel or stainless steel, with the build-up and fixing system selected for the location and required performance.

Can you follow a curved terrace?+

Yes. Accurate survey work and workshop setting-out allow the metalwork and glass to follow complex curves and changing levels.

Do you work from architects’ drawings?+

Yes. We develop fabrication and fixing details from the design intent and coordinate them with the architect and other trades.
